Lissy joined Discovering Justice in July, 2008, after having served as Executive Director of the Women’s Bar Association and Women’s Bar Foundation. For ten years prior to joining the Women’s Bar, Lissy worked as an Assistant Attorney General for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. She also served as a law clerk in the United States District Court and the Massachusetts Appeals Court, and spent three years teaching in the Legal Practice Skills Program at Suffolk University Law School, where she is currently an adjunct faculty member.  

Lissy holds a Bachelor’s Degree in English and a Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Pennsylvania. She received her law degree in 1985 from Northeastern University School of Law.


Shannon Cain Arnold

Shannon
is responsible for all of Discovering Justice's print and electronic communications. Shannon has a B.A. in Political Science and English from Saint Michael’s College in Vermont and a Master’s Degree in Writing, Literature, and Publishing from Emerson College. Prior to joining Discovering Justice, she worked as a tenant advocate for a legal services agency in Detroit, Michigan.  


Sarah Churchill Silberman

Sarah oversees all educational aspects of Discovering Justice's programming and writes educational materials, including the Children Discovering Justice curriculum. She holds a B.A. from Oberlin College and a Master of Arts in Teaching from the Tufts University/Shady Hill School joint program. Prior to joining Discovering Justice, Sarah was a classroom teacher for 12 years.

Jo manages Discovering the Bill of Rights and Stand Up for Your Rights and develops other educational materials for Discovering Justice. Jo has a B.A from the University of Illinois and an Ed.M. in Education from Harvard. Jo taught middle and high school English for six years.

 
Meryl Kessler, Esq.

Meryl develops content and works with law firms involved in the Mock Trial program. She is a graduate of Princeton University and Harvard Law School. Meryl has worked as a litigator in private practice and taught first-year legal research and writing and created moot court cases at Harvard Law School.

Emiley joined Discovering Justice in September 2009 and is responsible for increasing Discovering Justice's presence in the community, growing our media visibility, and developing our donor base. Prior to joining Discovering Justice, Emiley served as an Assistant Attorney General in the Public Protection and Advocacy Bureau for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and was also a litigation associate at the law firm Ropes & Gray. Emiley graduated from Boston College with a degree in psychology and cum laude from Georgetown University Law Center.


Cora MacDonald

Cora is responsible for all foundation grant proposals and reports as well as major donor research. She is also the Discovering Justice Board of Trustees and Board of Visitors liaison. Cora has a B.A. in Spanish and Art History from Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin.
