Volunteer Opportunities

In addition to financial contributions, Discovering Justice is always looking for volunteers for our programs. Members of the legal community are especially needed to share their expertise with our aspiring lawyers and judges!

You don’t need a lot of time to volunteer; you just need to like working with kids and want to be a role model and help students see themselves as future leaders. If you have even a couple of free hours, you can:

We also have several longer-term volunteer opportunities:

  • Become a mentor for a team of middle school students in our Mock Trial program! Time commitment is two hours per week for ten weeks, plus occasional meetings.*
  • Teach middle school students about the Bill of Rights in our after-school program, Stand Up for Your Rights! Time commitment is one afternoon per week for eight weeks, plus preparation time.*
  • Become a docent, leading Courthouse Tours at either the John Joseph Moakley U.S. Courthouse or the John Adams Courthouse!

We love all our volunteers! But, because of the specific legal content of some of our programs, volunteers for programs marked with an asterisk* must be attorneys.

Please contact us for more details about volunteering!
