Elisabeth J. Medvedow, Esq., named new Executive Director of Discovering Justice

Discovering Justice is proud to announce that Elisabeth J. Medvedow, Esq., has accepted the position of Executive Director. Discovering Justice Board CHair Gary Spiess said of Ms. Medvedow, "In my opinion she is exactly the right person for Discovering Justice at this time. Her energy and enthusiasm gives us an excellent opportunity to move the organization and its mission forward."

Ms. Medvedow has been the Executive Director of the Women's Bar Foundation since 2001 and Executive Director of both the Women's Bar Association and Women's Bar Foundation since 2003. Prior to that, she served as an Assistant Attorney General for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Ms. Medvedow has also served as a law clerk in the United States District Court and in the MAssachusetts Appeals Court, and spent three years teaching in the Legal Practice Skills Program at Suffolk University Law School. Ms. Medvedow holds a Bachelor's Degree in English and a Master's Degree in Education from the University of Pennsylvania. She received her law degree in 1985 from Northeastern University School of Law.

Of her decision to join Discovering Justice, Ms. Medvedow said to her boards and staff, "When this opportunity came my way, I realized that I was being offered the chance to integrate my educational background with my legal career, take on a new set of challenges, and further a mission that is exciting, ambitious, and potentially transformative. My hope and plan is that within the next few years, each of you will know, and perhaps in some way participate in, the inspirational work of Discovering Justice."

Ms. Medvedow lives with her husband and two daughters in Newton, Massachusetts. She assumes her new role at Discovering Justice in early July.
